He was the leading Dutch engraver of the early Baroque period. According to A. Hyatt Mayor, Goltzius "was the last professional engraver who drew with the authority of a good painter. Goltzius was born near Venlo in Bracht or Millebrecht, a village then in the Duchy of Julich, now in the municipality Brüggen in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1590 to make a tour through Germany to Italy, where he acquired an intense admiration for the works of Michelangelo. He returned to Haarlem in August 1591, considerably improved in health, and worked there until his death.

The variety of artworks ranging from the 16th to the early 20th century, we try and only use Listed Artists as per Davenports Art Reference Edition. Our artwork for sale is generally historically unique artworks as we try to offer rare works of art that are uncommon and difficult to find, for example Artists like Sir William Charles Ross, Anthony Vandyke, Hendrik Goltzius and Mary Green Byrne to name a few. Endeavoring to always provide the best quality materials in framing of our works of art to the highest of standards. We also have a large number of assorted artworks in storage.
